Cohort helps new teachers grow

The first year of school is filled with new experiences and challenges, and not just for students. Fayette County Public Schools offers first-year teachers enhanced tools to succeed with the Induction Level Teacher Cohort.

Participants in the ongoing professional development and community-building initiative met in a combination of face-to-face and Zoom meetings, as well as communicating through Schoology discussion posts, to share experiences, build peer relationships, and reflect upon their craft.

This year’s participants were Ani Garofalo, Steve Gauvin, Donna McEachern, Kenna Barkoot, Michelle Spears, and Chris Judy. They were guided by program leader Amanda Munroe, teacher leader Diedre Stephens, and Director of Elementary Education Heidi Pfannenstiel.
