For the second consecutive year, a Fayette County Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher has been selected to be a member of the LEAD (Leadership, Exploration, and Development) CTAE (Career, Technical, Agricultural, Education) class, a leadership development program designed specifically for CTAE teachers. 
Susan Hall, an engineering teacher at Bennett’s Mill Middle, is one of 20 teachers selected from around the state to participate in the second class of LEAD CTAE, which is sponsored by the Georgia Association of Career and Technical Education, the CTAE division of the Georgia Department of Education, and the CTAE Resource Network.
Selections for the class were made based on the scoring of applications, resumes, essay questions, and recommendations. Applicants were rated on motivation and perseverance, interest in CTAE leadership, willingness to learn from others and accept guidance, independence, ability to work effectively as a team member, ability to apply learned concepts to new situations and ideas, and being self-directed.
“I am so proud of Susan for being selected to this very prestigious group,” says Lisa Collins, CTE director for the school system.
Throughout the year, Hall will participate in sessions that are designed to help participants develop valuable skills and knowledge in the areas of team building, leadership, priority management, business engagement, legislative advocacy and policy, communication, instruction, and economic development.
