Two middle schools and two high schools joined in the competition at the Georgia Technology Student Association (TSA) State Leadership Conference.
From March 13-16, students from around the state gathered for three days of intense competition and camaraderie. The competition showcased the talents of middle and high school students representing 182 schools from across the state.
Bennett’s Mill and Rising Starr Middle totaled four event victories.
Bennett’s Mill Middle competed in 26 categories and was recognized as a White Chapter with a growth of 156 percent.
The Broncos won in two categories: Amari Kemp and Kaden Jawwaad (Vlogging); and Benita Abrifor, Alisha Virani, Amari Kemp, and Maximus Kemp (Inventions & Innovations).
Alex Moore placed 3rd for Website Design.
The Broncos also scored top 10 placements in MicroController, Off the Grid, Video Game Design, Digital Photography, CAD, Electrical Applications, Systems Control, Coding, Essays on Technology, Prepared Speech, and Children's Stories.
Rising Starr Middle scored eight top 3 finishes. The Panthers also ranked 4th overall among middle schools.
They won in two competitions: Andrew Nguyen and Andrew Sexton (Electrical Applications); and Aston Pierce and Rostik Tishchenko (Structural Engineering).
They placed 2nd in two competitions: Siddhant Nahar (Cybersecurity); and Connor Redden and Demetrios Liaskos (Mass Production).
They placed 3rd in four competitions: Anay Chuahan and Siddhant Nahar (Forensic Technology); Vaughn Kerrane, Enzo Antonucci, Pierce Fowler, and Eden Wedekemper (Microcontroller); Liam Bell (Prepared Speech); and Aston Pierce and Rostik Tishchenko (Problem Solving).
They also had top 10 finishes in CAD Foundations, Coding, Cybersecurity, Website Design, Children’s Stories, Essays on Technology, and Mechanical Engineering.
Starr’s Mill High had four top 10 placements: Jason Li, Klein Fowler, and Aiden Vandergrift (6th place, System Control Technology); Ethan Ruppert, Ethan Ness, and Jacob Wagner (10th place, Manufacturing Prototype); Jack Early, Krishna Khushalani, Vailana Antonucci, Benjamin Davis, Evie Thelier, and Mai Pamor (10th place, On-Demand Video); and John Bostick, Krishna Khushalani, Jagad Krishnan, Mitt Patel, and Ryan Sexton (10th place, Software Development).
The Sandy Creek High team of Gerardo Aguilera Vazquez, Khalil Meikle, Brian Boulware, Alan Nguyen, Farah Safawi, Maddy Lohr, and Brooke Downing placed top 10 in CyberSecurity.
Hosted in Athens, the conference featured more than 80 competitive events, highlighting innovation, teamwork, and leadership in various technological fields.
