For two decades, the Education Foundation has sought to support the students, teachers, and schools in Fayette County through a variety of initiatives.
Our mission is to support our public school system’s teachers and the programs that will enhance and enrich the education of our students in innovative, creative, and meaningful ways that will enable our graduates to be skillful, competitive, and successful in their future careers.
The Fayette County Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that solely supports students and teachers in the Fayette County Public School System. The Foundation relies on donations from businesses, individuals, organizations, and employees of the Fayette County Public School System to offer financial support for projects and programs that otherwise would not be funded.
The Foundation was established in 2000 by community members, the Fayette County Public School System and the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce to promote enhanced learning opportunities for students and staff.
The Foundation awarded its first funds in the spring of 2001 in the form of teacher mini-grants for innovative classroom projects that support the curriculum of the Fayette County Public School System. Additionally, the Foundation served as the catalyst for several businesses and individuals who wanted to give specific scholarships to students.
As school system needs have changed, the Foundation has changed to meet those needs, but the main focus is still to enhance learning opportunities for students and staff.
